Out of the Mouths of Babes!

Kids Say the Darnedest Things!

frazzled momAs parents we tend to hide our bad and sad moods from our children.  Somehow, we think we’re protecting them from the pitfalls of life, or perhaps we’re demonstrating strength by never showing weakness.  Let’s face it folks, they don’t miss a beat.  We must be emitting some kind of waves around our moods as children gravitate in a calmer fashion when I am feeling my weakest.  I get the, “Mommy, are you ok?”  Or the occasional, “Do you need a hug?”  My favorite is the “Would you like me to read you a book?”  I mean, who can refuse some of these basic expressions of love and concern?  They can just see it or smell it on me when I need a little extra tender care.

Have you Ever Had a Bad Day?

bowl full of rosesOf course you have!  I mean, life isn’t always a bowl full of roses!  The only thing you can do is move on past it, find the silver lining around the cloud, and continue to move forward, right?  Is the same true for your children?  I mean, they’re mood changes from moment to moment.  So, how is it a few words from them manage to turn our frowns upside down?

Get A Pep-Talk from the Kid President

Here’s one kid who just embodies the concept of a “pick-me-up”, and then he takes it one step further.  I am not sure who his mom is, and I sure do like to believe she’s proud to see all he’s accomplished.  Kids tend to listen to people more their size, on their level, and preferably in their age group.  He’s a role model for good causes, great people, and his sense of humor is adorable too.  Check out Soulpancake, and decide for yourself if his words are really “Out of the Mouths of Babes!”

Happy Inside.  Happy Outside.
